'never again during the remainder of his journey to San Francisco would he equal or surpass this day's eighty-eight-mile effort. furthermore, never again on the trip would he encounter roads as fine as those he met in the Cornhusker state. riding through Wyoming and every state or territory thereafter, Nellis would long for the "excellent paths" of Nebraska.' - An American Cycling Odyssey, 1887

Have a great time in San Fran! You deserve a good vacation and I think it's so great that you are riding to your destination, after getting off the plane. Also, Happy Birthday early, since you'll be gone on the actual date. :)
thanks nicol.
Have lots of fun. Remember the cable cars are on tracks- cars are not when you need a boost. Also, when the airlines ask what's in the case- say it's art supplies and maybe avoid the extra charge. Enjoy.
If you don't know already, I've always have great food at the Pacific Cafe on Geary.
bon voyage! remember, your bike is worth about 4 crack rocks to alot of people. so lock it up good!
