must've been some glass

i had just taken a call and i reached back to put the phone back in my jersey pocket and i swerved slightly, then i my wheels slipped into a deep crack in the road and a loud 'POP' 'POP' immediately followed. i don't think i've ever had a double blowout. i don't get too many flats, and this one was avoidable, but i guess i was due. fortunately i had the necessary supplies to get me home. an oldschool tip: dollar bills can be used as a boot inside the tire if you get a really bad sidewall cut. both my tires had huge identical sidewall cuts so i had to use one in each tire. despite being pretty damn small i will attest that the micro rocket does work. even though it's rated to pump up to 160psi i seriously doubt anyone could get a tire up to 100psi with it. it took me long enough to get both tires pumped up to 70-80 psi, and with the mosquitos getting bad, i called it good and headed back home.

CO2 is my best friend when I get flats. Quick and easy.

I will second that, CO2 is the way to go. Of course I'm a pussy and anything past 40 psi with a hand pump I need a girl to finish.

i tried the CO2s when they first came out way back when, but the heads never worked well and i didn't want to have to keep buying cartridges. i'm sure they work a lot better these days, but i still i prefer a pump.
