the san jose rocks
rode the new steed down to the radio station this afternoon. the bike feels great! the brooks saddle is super comfy, and the brown cloth tape on the bars matches up well. it has a nice retro look to it. the 130mm negative rise salsa stem kinda stretches me out a bit, too agressivo perhaps, but it's fun. still, i'll probably swap in a 120mm later. ya, i'm super stoked on this bike.

looks good conrad. you have it set up fixed or ss? i wish seeing all the records @ kzum made me miss doing my show there but it doesn't. stay warm.
hey thad. no, it's not fixed yet. when i get some extra $$$ i'm gonna have ep build me up a sweet fixed gear wheelset, hopefully soon. i'm eager to try fixed gearing through wilderness with this bike, but i'm wondering if the stock 42x17 gear is too high? with 700c wheels, and fat 35c+ cross tires, I'm thinking it will be. what do you think? what did len use out there?
i have 40 or 42's on my cross-check- can't remember which. i think they're 40's- and they were fine. len ran 38 or 40's i think.
i'm not worried about the tires, they fit. i was worried the 42x17 gear was a tad high for offroad. i'll have to email len and see what he was using. 42x18? 38x18? what do you run on your cc?
42X16 for me. its not bad. perhaps a bit tough but not bad.
