bicis unidos
i went on the critical mass ride and there was a pretty good turnout. i brought the tunes via the mpu (consisting of my bob trailer with a pos ghetto blaster) so we had a rolling mini dance party going on.

congrats ladies
after my volunteering duties in the kayak were done i went over to the finish line to cheer for some friends as they finished. team rumbletime (made up of ashlee, lindsey, and lis from our BRAN 'rumbletime' group) did great and placed first in their age group. i also saw kaelly, who has improved quite a lot on the bike since last august when i first rode with her. being an avid swimmer and runner, i knew she'd kick ass in a tri once she got her biking technique down. so when the final results were in i wasn't that surprised to learn that she won!! her time was 1hr11min, which beat most of the men. congrats!
rise and shine
i had to get up early and be out at the holmes lake boat docks by 7am this morning for the cornhusker state games triathlon. i was one of the volunteers in the kayaks providing support for the swimming portion. i had fun (i haven't been in canoe or a kayak since boyscouts... and that was a long LONG time ago), though the water was not what you'd call pristine. it looked to be more like green algae soup, and from what i heard from a few friends that competited, was not fun to swim in.

l'eroíca thursday 2nd edish
though unlike last week's edition it was just me, myself, and i on this one. i'm really getting to like this route, though it looks like a good portion of it will be paved before long.

105.49
after breakfast we headed back to lincoln. ashlee wanted add a few more miles before heading back to omaha so she came with us as we rode west on church road. along with farms, we rode by a semen center (lis and ashlee couldn't stop giggling). a few miles later we said goodbye to ashlee and lis and i turned south. usually a round trip to platte river state park is just over 80 miles. at about twelve miles from home lis expressed her desire to ride a full century, which she had never done before. i wasn't enthused at first, but then i thought how great a margarita would taste right then, so we took a detour south to bennet for a few drinks at mamacita's. that gave us the needed extra miles. when i got home all said and done it was 105.49 miles for the day. thanks to ashlee and lis for a great day on the bike.
dos damas
i rode out to platte with lis today. we were meeting for breakfast with ashlee who was riding down from omaha. when ashlee wasn't at the bridge we waited a while, and then she called saying she had a flat. lis and i then rode north through schramm state park to see if she needed any assistance. it would be the first of two flats for her, just minutes apart. glass shards suck.

l'eroica thursdays
it was a perfect night for a gravel ride on road bikes. nate took us on a nice 40mi loop south of town. riding those roads sure was fun, i can't wait to do it again next thursday!
