shorter days

big wheels

after dj'ing at the bar i was about to ride home and saw this chevy caprice. it's interesting that the wheels probably cost at least four times as much as the car is worth. a few minutes later the owner showed up, got in, and fired it up. i think whatever cash he has left he should spend it on a tune up, cause it sounded like crap and spewed black smoke as he pulled away. real smooth dude.

bike build session

someone couldn't wait to get their new touring bike (a jamis aurora) built up. a couple of hours later (it takes me a while to build up a bike.. gotta grease all the bolts you know) melissa took her new steed for a spin in the dark and she was quite happy. she said she's gonna name her astrid.

brent heading down to the station for a special 'cuban odyssey' edition of my show. brent talked about his trip to cuba in july. it was a good start for the new time slot for mundo latino (now 3:30-5:30 saturday afternoons... CST).

flats are no fun but when it happens in a nice place well then i just take my time and enjoy the atmosphere. tonight it was one of the bridges on the mopac as i was heading out to eagle.

bike shopping

tasha has always had trouble finding bikes her size, but today we scored and found a couple of cool 80's vintage cannondales that fit her perfectly. so along with a touring bike, she might get a mountain bike too. i dig the teal paint and coral colored stem combo.

yesterday was the annual swap meet, and though we kinda tied one on the previous night, the girls and i still managed to meet up early for coffee at meadowlark before riding out to check out the deals.

i caught up to some peeps at the hut. it's a popular stop on the way to eagle.

i decided to head out on the mopac for some nachos tonight. a few miles east of town i was stopped by this cat. he just wanted to be petted, and then he went on his way... probably to exact more petting tolls from the passersby.

i met up with caitlin for some coffee at kinetic brew downtown. she rides a 70's vintage ladies schwinn continental that's in primo condition. i dig the bronze color.

a special screening of automorphosis was at the bourbon theatre tonight. one of the vehicles featured in the movie was parked out front. i wonder how much all that decor weighs. there was something for everyone on it... especially the ladies.

big ring beverly

i met up with bev for a ride tonight. we thought it was going to rain as we headed south on hwy 77 but it never did and it really turned out to be a nice evening. we ended up getting in 30-35mi before dark. i hope she doesn't hate me tomorrow (i made her use her big ring).

la paz tuesday

gotta call from supah G, 'you hungry?' heck yes i said, and off to la paz we rode. she wanted to use up some gift certifs that she won. thanks for the hookup G!
