i finally got around to thoroughly cleaning the drivetrain and installing a new chain the l'una... and now the merckx is next. geez, maintaning a fleet takes work :-P

good thing i put the fenders on last week. this cold rainy weather is bumming me out. i can't wait for fall to return... which they say will be will this weekend. yay!

it was a short while later i realized i forgot to bring lights... oops. oh well, i just kept going south anyway (coming back on 77 in the dark is one of my specialties). great night to be out on a bike.

magyar express

she has arrived, and it didn't take as long as i thought it would (just seven days). the magyar biker i got her from must share my fondness for rare italian steel.

after dj'ing at the bar i was about to ride home and saw this chevy caprice. it's interesting that the wheels probably cost at least four times as much as the car is worth. a few minutes later the owner showed up, got in, and fired it up. i think whatever cash he has left he should spend it on a tune up, cause it sounded like crap and spewed black smoke as he pulled away. real smooth dude.

bike build session

someone couldn't wait to get their new touring bike (a jamis aurora) built up. a couple of hours later (it takes me a while to build up a bike.. gotta grease all the bolts you know) melissa took her new steed for a spin in the dark and she was quite happy. she said she's gonna name her astrid.

el brent

brent heading down to the station for a special 'cuban odyssey' edition of my show. brent talked about his trip to cuba in july. it was a good start for the new time slot for mundo latino (now 3:30-5:30 saturday afternoons... CST).

hanging on the bridge

flats are no fun but when it happens in a nice place well then i just take my time and enjoy the atmosphere. tonight it was one of the bridges on the mopac as i was heading out to eagle.

bike shopping

tasha has always had trouble finding bikes her size, but today we scored and found a couple of cool 80's vintage cannondales that fit her perfectly. so along with a touring bike, she might get a mountain bike too. i dig the teal paint and coral colored stem combo.
